Come by with your dog or puppy this Saturday morning and let them make friends while you enjoy some homemade breakfast tacos and coffee. Brought to you by Modular Dog and TAKO. All dogs welcome. I have a huge fenced yard where they can run around and go crazy. Also have a small pool for any that want to chill and get a tan. Feel free to bring friends. No fighting allowed, unless they’re pitbulls. IF YOU HAVE NO DOG, YOU’RE STILL WELCOME.

The event takes place at the home of Hector Garcia, creator of Modular Dog homes. It’s in the Shady Acres subdivision, near the Heights. The address is 1318 W. 23rd st, Houston, Tx 77008. Squirt loves his House

Meet Squirt. He’s our adorable little Chihuahua who was the inspiration for this first modular dog house model and he LOVES his new home.

We found squirt over 3 years ago while driving through Downtown Houston. We saw this little dog running down the sidewalk as if he knew where he was going. With no owner in sight, we pulled over, got out the truck, and followed him into some woods. There was no one or anything there and after he came upon the edge of the bayou cliff, he turned around, sat there and looked at us (shivering by the way). I sat down next to him and allowed him to come to me. After holding this little guy for a few minutes, he was clearly a keeper and we took him home.

He picked up the name “Squirt” because he would pee every time we approached him because of being so afraid. That reaction eventually went away, but the name stuck. haha. But I’ve always wanted to build something for our dogs and have always had designs in mind. At the time of this first model, which we call “The Loft”, we were living in Live Oak Lofts near downtown and because the windows were raised off the ground, there was no way for our dog to look out the window. One day we realized that Squirt was jumping up to the top part of the couch so that he could look out, and bam!, the Loft idea was born.

This first model is very simple and clean design. We love modular / pre-fab home designs and this is where the inspiration comes from. It’s designed to be an indoor home and works well next to a couch or other piece of furniture that would make it easy for your dog to jump to the top and chill. The Loft

“The Loft” is Modular Dog’s very first loft inspired dog home design. If you read the story about our small dog “Squirt”, then you know the story behind this very sleek, modular design. The Loft is made from high quality sanded pine, all custom cut and assembled. The Loft can be painted in any color desired using interior or exterior environmentally-safe enamel.

The Loft weighs less than 35lbs once fully assembled and is very durable. The legs on this awesome little home are Ikea style silver, adjustable legs with floor friendly padding along the bottom. The inside of this house is lined with “shag-style” rug as well as the top. Squirt’s personal home also has a sheep skin rug sitting on top for a little more coziness.

Custom Colors

Though we love the color green, when you order your very own ModularDog home, we can paint it any color you’d like. Simply provide a swatch color number or a color pallet from a place such as Home Depot or Lowe’s and we’ll take it from there. We paint all of the homes using a standard Glidden interior or exterior flat enamel, but if you prefer to use a different brand and “sheen”, please let us know. Additional charges may apply. We paint the interior and exterior of each home so that the wood is completely protected.
